Our Few Words

Waveshaper is back with his new album ready to blast straight through your speakers. Mainframe is the new record which will be released on 17th September 2021. Waveshaper has been very busy releasing singles and collaborating with musicians such as Scandroid. Mainframe promises to take a few steps away from the typical synthwave sound and incorporating elements of Future Funk in there.

Mainframe starts with a hard hitting introduction with The Phantom Machine coming up with Daft Punk vibes with a vicious twist to it. Friends Again is more fast paced with its punchy bass adding to the addictive charm this song creates. Signals In The Night shines through with its SEGA heyday cheery sound which remains consistently entertaining. Save Room kicks its feet up and is a very relaxing midway point in Mainframe.

Lost In The Cloud, previously released as a single, gives us good old synthwave with a brilliantly done orchestral element gelling the two sounds well. The Hive is a groovy number bringing us back to the sweet future Funk rhythms Mainframe has already demonstrated. Artificial Promises is a slow burner, but when it picks up it continues the top class funk by taking the baton from the previous tune. A Sense Of Something is an incredible effort to end Mainframe despite it being anticlimactic due to the song length.

Mainframe is a brave step into a different direction from Wavshaper. That bravery has paid off exceptionally well and offers an album that has very interesting songs on that’s not just your generic synthwave. Mainframe is a perfected blend of synthwave and future funk making it a one-two punch of an album which is worthy for any listeners. Aside from its short duration, Mainframe stands out in Waveshaper’s discography a as a triumph on being experimental with the synthwave sound.
